JUDE SUSS THEATER PROGRAM
A rare printed program from the notorious propaganda film "Jew Suss" commissioned by Joseph Goebels and completed in 1940. The movie played on basic Nazi stereotypes of Jews having hooked noses and being materialistic, immoral, cunning, untrustworthy and physically unattractive. The main character, a Jew, unsuccessfully pursues and then rapes a non-Jewish woman, who then commits suicide. He is executed, and all Jews are expelled from the state. The film was a huge success in Germany, having over 20 million views. The program is 8pp. large 4to., Berlin, 1940, listing cast members and giving a synopsis of the film, with several scenes depicted within including the title character pursuing his "prey". Shows wear to the edges, else very good.
