JEWS ARE FORCED TO REGISTER THEIR BICYCLES
Printed announcement, 1p. 4to. [n.p., n.d., likely Berlin, ca 1941], probably issued by the Jewish Cultural Association of Berlin. This document sets forth in question-and-answer format rules put in place for Jews using bicycles for transport. The complicated rules apply to "Jews who are obliged to wear the Jew's Star". Even health care providers are required to obtain permission, with the reason put in writing. Jews also may not use bicycles for travel to work if other means of transport are available. Other personal property to be registered with the government is also mentioned, including cameras and typewriters, and if such items have been given away or sold, those items must be declared as well. File holes at left margin, small tear at top. Else very good. We suspect that such declarations were made simply to facilitate the confiscation of such valuable property by the authorities.
