GERMAN LAW ON TENANCY WITH JEWS
Printed flyer, 2pp. 4to., [n.p., n.d., likely Berlin, May, 1939], an official notice offering questions and answers on the subject of laws concerning Jewish tenancy. A vivid illustration of the laws further persecuting German Jews as relates to their living arrangements. Examples include: Jewish tenants in non-Jewish homes could be terminated early on three months' notice; evicted Jews unable to find a new residence could apply to the authorities for a place in a "Judaic" residence; rental contracts between non-Jewish landlords and Jewish tenants require civil approval; and it sets forth conditions under which the prospective tenant and his/her children would be considered Jewish. SOLD WITH: a clipping from a Jewish newspaper, May 9, 1939, "Tenancies with Jews", setting forth the laws noted in the preceding document. Several of the provisions are highlighted in pencil by the reader. One provision indicating that a Jew could be evicted if the property was required for personal use is annotated "available". File holes cost a few words of text.
