The Gaon Rabbi Yosef Wolf (1815-1892), Av Beit Din of Kalacha, and a student of the Chassam Sofer. Rabbi Wolf was the son-in-law of Rabbi Avraham Shaag-Zwebner, Av Beit Din of Kabersdorf and Jerusalem. He studied under the Chassam Sofer for five years and merited to pour water to wash his hands until his death. Rabbi Wolf also studied under the Ktav Sover and Rabbi Yehezkel Bennet, Av Beit Din of Nitra. Rabbi Wolf’s grandfather was Rabbi Yitzhak Grieshaber of Pacs, author of Gedulat Mordechai.
