Rabbi Shalom Moskowitz – Rebbe of Shotz, a descendant of the chassidic dynasties of Zlochov, Premishlany, Belz and Ropshitz, served as Dayan and Rabbi of Shotz (1903-1919), Tarnow – Poland (ca. 1919), Cologne – Germany (1924) and London (1928). Wherever he lived he was renowned as an outstanding Torah scholar and saintly chassidic rebbe and was active in upholding and strengthening traditional Torah education and observance. In his Will he promised to intercede on behalf of people who come to his grave and undertake to improve their religious observance, and numerous stories are recounted of people who have been helped after visiting there.
