Blessing Laden Letter for a Joyous Occasion by the Admo"r the Beit Avraham of Slonim. Bialystock, C. 1920.
Lengthy letter [37 lines], loaded with blessings upon a joyous occasion - which is a segulah for salvation. Handwritten and signed by the Admo"r Rabbi Avraham Weinberg of Slonim, author ofֲ Beit Avraham, sent to Chassidim of Slonim in Tiberias on the occasion of his daughter's wedding.
The rabbi opens his letter with: "Dear beloved friends and devoted Chassidim ..." he continues and writes to the Chassidim about his preparations for his daughter Yuta's marriage to his sister's son, the bridegroom Moshe Ya'akov HaKohen Rapoport [who was killed in the Holocaust along with his entire family]. The Rebbe expresses his distress regarding the dangerous situation prevailing in Europe: "Indeed, the dangerous precipice of our time renews each day, coming closer than your fathers ever imagined, the duress, the dispersion of people, and their blood which is being spilled like water ..."
The Admo"r blesses profusely upon his family's joyous occasion: "And may you be visited by and granted His revealed and plentiful lovingkindness, may you be successful in all the details as your hearts desire for the good, and may He illuminate His good light upon you in prayer and on Shabbat, and in His holy service, going from darkness to great light and to the complete redemption" and he signs with his full signature "אברהם בהרה"ק זצללה"ה זיע"א ועכי"א מסלאנימא".
The Admo"r Rabbi Avraham Weinbergֲ II) [1884-1933], was the Admo"r of Slonim in Baranovich, third generation in the dynasty of Admo"rs of Slonim. He is known by the name of his bookֲ as "the Beit Avraham." He was born several months after the passing of his paternal grandfather, Rabbi Avraham Weinberg (I), author of Yesod HaAvodah, founder of Slonim Chassidut, and was named after him. His father was the Admo"r Mahara"sh, who served as the second Admo"r of Slonim Chassidut. In 1901, Rabbi Avraham married the daughter of the Admo"r of Lomz-Kotzk, grandson of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kotzk. With his appointment as the Admo"r, he was also appointed Nasi Kollel Rizine, and was very active on behalf of the Chassidic settlement in the Land of Israel. His Chassidim in the Land included Rabbi Moshe Clears, rabbi of Tiberias, Rabbi Mordechai Chaim Slonim (later leader of Slonim Chassidut), Rabbi Asher Ze'ev Werner and many more. His book Beit Avraham is known for its depth of Chassidic thought, and the Beit Avraham Slonim yeshivah in Jerusalem is named after him.
