R. Moshe Feinstein. Historic letter regarding Mesivta Tiferes Yerusholayim. 1954. With rare rabbinical stamp.
Autograph letter by R. Moshe Feinstein, first detailing the accomplishments of his Mesivta Tiferes Yerusholayim and then describing the dire financial straits of the Yeshiva. He writes that the staff haven’t been paid and the Yeshiva is unable to afford nutritious meals for the students. He then implores all who are able, to donate generously to the Yeshiva and concludes with warm blessings.
R. Moshe Feinstein (1895-1986), was born in Uzda, Belarus where his father served as Rav. Known as an outstanding Talmid Chochom from a very young age, he was appointed to his first rabbinical post at age 21 and as Rav of Luban a few years later. Following increased religious persecution in Soviet Russia, he immigrated to the United States. He served as Rosh Yeshiva in Mesivta Tiferes Yerusholayim where he taught hundreds of distinguished talmidim. He had a leading role in the establishment of the orthodox Jewish community in the U.S. and greatly impacted Jewry the world over. He was the preeminent Posek of his time answering thousands of Halachic questions from across the world.
