Signed letter (possibly autograph) by R. Yitzchok Dov Bamberger on embossed letterhead dated 1864, to the famed Rabbi Eliyahu Gutmacher, of Greiditz.
After lauding R. Gutmacher with extraordinary titles, R. Bamberger writes that he has just published his work Moreh L’Zovchim on the laws of Shechita and is enclosing a copy as a personal gift, as well as twelve more copies to be sold among the local Shochtim. Additionally, he informs R. Gutmacher that his work Amira L’Bais Yaakov (laws pertaining to the Jewish woman), has just been republished and he is sending one as a gift and six to be sold. This letter is demonstrative of the great friendship between these two leading giants of the Torah world in Germany.
