Biurei HaZohar. Lemberg 1861. Handwritten Ma'ma'ar
Manuscript of Chasidic discourse “Ma’amar”.
Commentary on the Zohar by R. Dov Ber Schneerson, the “Mittler Rebbe” of Chabad.
Following the passing of the Ba’al Hatanya in 1813, a split occurred with some Chassidim accepting his son R. Dov Ber as Rebbe “Mittler Rebbe” and others accepting R. Aaron Halevy Horowitz of Strelishe (1766-1828) “the Strelishe”. The two great leaders differed primarily in their understanding of the Ba’al Hatanya’s doctrine as to the preferred way of Divine service. This sefer with a lengthy title page describing how the “Alter Rebbe” designated his son the “Mittler Rebbe” to transcribe his teachings on the Zohar was published by the Mittler Rebbe’s Chassidim.
With a manuscript bound into the sefer written in an unidentified handwriting seemingly of a Ma’amar.
Flecker press. [2], 84, 34, 21 pages. 25 cm. Overall fine condition. Wear around the edges. Two pages with printer’s error slightly affecting text. Antique binding.
Opening bid $150
