"The Moriah", May 7, 1912, issue of a short article about Jewish victims of the Titanic. (Jews from the Mohelib faction who immigrated to America).
They fled from the Kishinev pogroms and years of pogroms, out of a desire to start again in the New World. In America, among the thousands of Titanic passengers were hundreds of Jews - most of them poor, who had been housed in the third class without any chance of being rescued from the ship.
The newspaper Moriah was an instrument of expression of the moderates of the old Yishuv during the Turkish rule.
