Biblical Discourse Letter by Rabbi Shlomo Ya'akov Shein
Biblical discourse letter by Ga'on Rabbi Shlomo Ya'akov Shein Av-Beit-Din Latzkova. Elul 1932.
Sent to writer's friend the Ga'on Rabbi Shlomo Natan Kotler. The letter ends with a New Year greeting.
Rabbi Shlomo Ya’akov Shein (1856-1934, Otzar Ha-Rabbanim 18852) became rabbi in Tzitevian in 1893. From 1898 he served as rabbi in Latzkova, Kovna district, until his passing in 1934. He authored the Avnei Shayish Responsum. The Rabbi of Ponivezh, Rabbi Yosef S. Kahaneman, said that he knew him well, and attested that he was among the great rabbis of Lithuania.
