Sefer Raban - Prague, 1610 - First Edition - Glosses by Rabbi David Ya'akov Biederman Author of "Hagahot Maharid"
Sefer Even Ha'Ezer - Raban, halachic rulings on tractates of the Shas, by Rabbi Eliezer ben Natan. Prague, [1610]. First edition.
Hundreds of glosses in Ashkenazi handwriting, majority are references, version corrections and notations for various sources, and minority are brief erudite comments. In one of the comments the author mentions his genealogy: "That which my grandfather wrote in the book Maginei Shlomo". Last leaf contains rubbed out notation: "Rabbi David Ya'akov Biederman". Apparently the glosses are in the handwriting of Rabbi Ya'akov David Biederman (1806-1863, Encyclopedia of Hassidism II, p. 260). Disciple of Rabbi Shlomo Leib of Lentsha and the Rebbe of Kotzk. Rabbi in Mezhirichi, in Koznitz and in Wyszogrֳ³d, composed several books, famous for his composition "Hagahot Maharid" on Toraht Cohanim (Sifra) with commentary of Rabbi Shimshon of Sens. He prepared the commentary of Rabbi Shimshon of Sens from a manuscript which he had in his possession and attached his glosses and notations to it. Was a descendent of the author of Pnei Yehoshua Responsa and Maginei Shlomo.
Incomplete book. 2-60, 67-121, 123-124, 126-154 leaves (instead of 154 leaves; missing: title page and additional 8 leaves). 28 cm. Fair condition. Several leaves in fair-poor condition, some detached. Stains, wear and tear, moth stains. Text omission on number of leaves.
