Manuscript, novellae on Torah, halacha and aggada. Rabbi Yehuda Rosenfeld. [Pressburg, 1830]. The first pages have many notations and signatures: "I have made this notebook to write all the novellae and Torah from my teacher Rabbi Moshe Sofer Rabbi of Pressburg, G-d should raise his glory… and he should live long days and years amen"; "Yehuda Rosenfeld, Karlisberg" [Klausenberg]. [See: HaChatam Sofer V'Talmidav, p. 166]. Records of yahrtzheits of his father and mother.
At the beginning of the manuscript is research done on the topic of yayin nesech, according to the order of the leaves in Tractate Avoda Zara: "First, I will discuss the source and root of yayin nesech with all its branches and G-d should save me from mistakes" [Written by Rabbi Yehuda Rosenfeld who dealt with trading wine and on the last leaves of the manuscript he listed accounts and names of customers]. Afterward, his novellae on Tractate Bava Metzia appear. [These novellae were not printed].
Most of the manuscript has novellae and homiletics on the Torah from his teacher the Chatam Sofer. The content of the novellae were printed in the various books of the Chatam Sofer [Torat Moshe, Chatam Sofer Al HaTorah, Derashot Chatam Sofer etc.], but here some of them appear in the personal version of the writer as he heard them from his teacher the Chatam Sofer or as he copied them from the writings of the Chatam Sofer's disciples [for additional details see attached material].
Some 140 written pages. 25 cm. Good condition, stains. New binding.
