A Pair of Torah Finials (Rimonim) – India / Iraq
A pair of Torah Finials (Rimonim). India or Iraq, late 19th century or early 20th century.
Silver, engraved.
Engraved on one finial is a dedication: "Donation to Beit Knesset Sha'arei Tefilla in memory of Rabbi Shalom Shabazi". To the best of our knowledge, the Torah finials originated in India. Apparently, they were made in Iraq and were used by members of the Iraqi Jewish community of India.
Height: 18 cm. Six chains missing.
