Hand-colored woodcut, depicting the destruction of Jerusalem and the First Temple, by Nabuzaradan, Nebuchadnezzar King of Babel's army commander, in the year 586 BCE.
According to Laor, this is only the second view of Jerusalem ever printed (Laor 1125A).
Hand-drawn additions in two places on the woodcut (small and faded).
Approx. 41.5X57.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains and creases (mostly minor). Small tears to margins. Two tears reinforced with adhesive tape on verso. Tears and open tears along the connection between the leaves, repaired, with replacements. Handwritten inscriptions on margins (in German, primarily on verso).
