Notebook of Receipts, Donations for the Journey of Rabbi Eliezer of Oswiecim to Eretz Israel - With Stubs Completed by Hand with Names for Prayer "For Good and Deliverance"
Printed notebook of receipts, "for supporting the journey to the Holy Land", with a printed letter by the Rebbe of Oswiecim R. Elazar HaLevi Rosenfeld, son of the Rabbi of Kamenka and son-in-law of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. [Oswiecim, ca. 1935].
In his printed letter, the rebbe promises that upon settling in Eretz Israel, he will pray on behalf of the donors "for good and deliverance in all matters": "My soul is yearning for the Court of G-d, as was the desire of my holy fathers… and now in my old age, I have attained a government affidavit and hope to joyously ascend to Zion, therefore those who are able to assist me in this great mitzvah, at the time I enter the Holies, I will surely remember you at every propitious time for good and deliverance in all matters…". The stubs of the receipts are filled-in by hand [by the rebbe?] with names of donors and the names of their mothers, to be mentioned in the rebbe's prayers in the Holy Land.
R. Elazar HaLevi Rosenfeld of Oswiecim (1861-1943), youngest son-in-law of the author of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz and son of R. Yehoshua of Kamenka (son of R. Shalom of Kamenka). On the verge of WWII, he returned to Poland and perished in the Sosnowiec Ghetto.
