20 small portraits of rabbis. Germany, [late 19th or early 20th century].
Twenty portraits made after photographs or paintings. Among them pictures of Rabbi Zvi Mecklenburg, Av Beit Din of Königsberg, Rabbi Nathan Adler Hacohen, Av Beit Din of London, Rabbi Yosef Shlomo del Medigo of Candia, Rabbi Shimshon Raphael Hirsch, Rabbi Simcha Calimani, Rabbi Shlomo Yehuda Leib Cohen Rappaport, Av Biet Din of Prague, Rabbi Raphael Cohen, Av Beit Din Altona, Hamburg and Wandsbek, Rabbi Moshe Mintz, Rabbi Shlomo Eiger, Av Beit Din of Posen and Kalisch, Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Hayot, Av Beit Din of Zhovkva, Admor "Zemach Zedek, The Vilna Gaon, and other rabbis. The pictures are mounted on Bristol boards or small cardboard boards. Most pictures are stamped on verso with publisher's ink stamp, M. Poppelauer's Buchhandlung in Berlin.
Average size of pictures: 5X8 cm, average size of boards: 6X10 cm. Some stains or creases to some of the pictures.
