MAGRITTE RENÉ: (1898-1967) Belgian Surrealist Artist. His work has influenced Pop Art and Minimalist Art. An excellent A.L.S., `René Magritte´, one page, 8vo, 97 Rue des Mimosas, Brussels, 1st of May 1959, to Remy, in French. Magritte thanks his correspondent for his letter and states in part `Thank you for your offer to exhibit one of my past paintings. It will be if you do not mind for a future occasion, as the today´s date exhibition in the Ixelles Museum only shows paintings from 1926..´ further saying `If I walk by La Panne any day in future, I´ll look for you to say hello and with pleasure will look again at this painting which I do not keep any remembrance.´ Accompanied by the letter Magritte received from his correspondent, T.L.S., `Remy´, one page, 4to, Brussels, 23rd April [1959], to René Magritte, in French.
