A garnet cabochon with female face in three-quarter view modelled in the half-round hatched band of hair surrounding fleshy face with large lentoid eyes and small pursed mouth; mounted in a later gold finger ring. 4.59 grams, 25mm overall, 17.65mm internal diameter (approximate size British O, USA 7 1/4, Europe 15.0, Japan 14) (1"). Very fine condition.
Provenance
The Signo collection, the property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s.
