A mixed group of cylinder seals comprising: one with frieze of rosettes; one with frieze of stag and fawn, herringbone borders; one with geometric 'maze' pattern; one with lozenge pattern accompanied by an old scholarly note, typed and signed by W.G. Lambert, late Professor of Assyriology, University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'Cylinder Seal of Bronze. 42 x 13 mm. The design is a pattern of rhombs, each filled with a dot, and triangles along top and bottom, where the design is enclosed within upper and lower rulings. This comes from Anatolia or the mountains to the north of Mesopotamia and dates to c. 1200-1000 B.C. It is in good condition.' 78 grams total, 19-42mm (3/4 - 1 3/4"). Fine condition. [4]

The Signo collection, the property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s; collection numbers 4038, W-548, T-578, T-267; academically researched and catalogued by the late Professor Lambert in the early 1990s.
