A well formed pecked and ground boat-shaped axe in a dark crystalline quartzite with asymmetric convex cutting edge tapering to a rounded butt, drilled to receive handle. 680 grams, 14.5cm (5 3/4"). Fine condition.
Provenance
From the London collection of Aleksey Vinokurov, formed from the 1920s-1951; collection number 21, found near Kemble, Gloucestershire, UK, in 1947; accompanied by a copy of the collection inventory dated 1951.
