Rare set of three Torah journals issued by the Kovno Kollel of the Slabodka Yeshiva. Includes Chidushei Torah written by R. Yechezkel Borstein (Divrei Yechezkel); R. Dovid Leibowitz, later Rosh Yeshiva of Torah Vo’daas and subsequently Yeshivas Chofetz Chaim and R. Yaakov Kamenetzky among others.
The Knesses Yisroel Slabodka Yeshiva was established in 1881, by R. Nosson Tzvi Finkel (1849-1927), a student of R. Simcha Zissel Ziv, the “Alter” of Kelm. Under the leadership of both the “Alter” and the Rosh Yeshiva, R. Moshe Mordechai Epstein, it quickly became one of the most prestigious Yeshivos in Europe. Distinguished alumni include R. Aaron Kotler, R. Reuven Grozovsky, R. Yaakov Kammenetsky, R. Yaakov Yitzchok Ruderman, R. Yitzchok Hutner and R. Elazar Shach.
