Chovot HaLevavot. Frankfurt, [1774], Including Prominent Approbations

Chovot HaLevavot by Rabbeinu Bachya Ibn Paquda, with four commentaries: Manoach HaLevavot, Toldot Aharon, Darash Hekdesh, and Pachad Yitzchak.

This edition only contains the "Shaar HaYichud." Printing was apparently stopped in the middle. Therefore, the introduction to Pachad Yitzchak ends in the middle and it is missing the Drush Neilat Shearim mentioned in the introduction. Printing apparently stopped in the middle due to the appearance of the Oleksinetz edition printed that same year.

This edition has eight approbations, from: Reb Shmuel Shmelke HaLevi Ish Horowitz of Nikolsburg; Reb Levi Yitzchak son of Meir of Zelechow; Reb Aharon son of Yosef Aharon HaLevi Horowitz; Reb Zanvill Nei Gass of Frankfurt am Main; Reb Shmuel Zanvill of Brandy Borg; Reb Yeudah Leib Farn Bach; Reb Chananyah Lipman son of Tzvi Hirsch Meisels of Apta; Reb Natan Nota Chunah of Prezedbarz; Reb Elazar HaKohen of Vadislov; and Reb Aharon son of Yisrael Segal Heller Wallerstein.

Woodcut title page, partially painted after printing and a pencil drawing of a horse.

4, 40 leaves. 20 cm. Fine condition. Deluxe cloth binding. Stains.
