First Edition Sefer Chareidim, Venice 1591

First edition Sefer Chareidim authored by Rabbi Elazar Azikri, one of the greatest Kabbalists of Tzfas in the generation of the Ar"i and Ramak.

Rabbi Elazar edited this sefer in 1588 for the Kabbalists of the "Sukkas Shalom" group organized by him. The sefer uniquely lists all of the mitzvos based on their affiliated organ; all mitzvos which depend on the heart, the eyes, the hands, etc. He also expounds on the mitzvos which are dependent on Eretz Yisrael whilst incorporating various Kabbalistic ideas and moral rebuke.

His famed composition, "Yedid Nefesh, " appears in this sefer for the first time (page 43a) with several significant variations to the popular text.

74 leaves | 19 cm | Few stains and censorship erasures, minor moth holes on select margins | Ancient leather binding | Very fine condition
