First Edition Seder Olam Raba with Glosses and Explanations from the Vilna Gaon, Sklow 1801

Sefer detailing the systematic chronology of Jewish history beginning with Adam Harishon until the tana'im, compiled by Rabbi Yossi ben Chalafta.

"It is printed in several places however they are all… full of errors… until Rabbi Eliyahu of Vilna came and removed the obstacles… and edited it with his familiarity with the matter of texts and versions and made an explanation and commentary on it."

Seder Olam Raba is one of the first sefarim brought to print following the death of the Vilna Gaon. This first edition was published in Sklow, 1801, by his disciple, Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Sklow.

The name of the second proofreader was omitted on this copy's colophon.
