Letter from Rabbi Chizkiya Feivel Ploit, Author of "Likutei Chaver Ben Chaim"
Handwritten and signed postcard dated 1892 from Rabbi Chizkiya Feivel Ploit, addressed to Rabbi Binyamin Zev Wolf Singer, grandson of the illustrious author of Shaarei Torah.
Rabbi Chizkiya Feivel Ploit (1818-1895) was the author of the well-known sefer Likutei Chaver Ben Chaim. He began studying in Yeshivas Chassam Sofer from a young age where he quickly garnered the respect of the Chassam Sofer himself, who personally looked after his well-being. Rabbi Chizkiya possessed tremendous admiration for his rabbi as well, and would rise at the mere mention of the Chassam Sofer's name. Rabbi Chizkiya mentions the Chassam Sofer multiple times throughout his sefer.
