The Valmadonna Trust Library possessed another copy of this edition printed entirely << on blue paper>> (subsequently sold by Kestenbaum & Company, Highly Important Hebrew Printed Books, 9th November, 2017, Lot 71).===Renowned Tosafist Eleazar of Worms (c. 1176-1238) was the last major figure of the Hassidei Ashkenaz Movement. The present work is entitled “Rokeach” as its numerical value equals that of the author’s name, Eleazar (=308). The work follows the tradition of many of the works of the Ba’alei-Tosafoth of France and Germany, educating the reader in the specifics of Halachic practice, as well as recommended custom and ritual. Although R. Eleazar does not explicate Talmudic passages at length, he provides clear commentary on the Talmudic basis of many aspects of the Halachah. See I. Zinberg, A History of Jewish Literature, vol. III, p. 24.
