Rabbi Shimon Shkop and Rabbi Mishkovsky
"WHAT WAS THE COMMOTION FROM ALL OF THE BUTCHERS?"

A long letter written in 1937 by Rabbi Chizkiyahu Yosef Mishkovsky, Av Beis Din of Krinik, addressed to Rabbi Reuven Katz, Av Beis Din of Petach Tikva.
In it, Rabbi Chizkiyahu attempts to uncover details regarding the news he read in "The Tagelblat" which told of how Rabbi Reuven established to burn the treifos in Petach Tikva which was loudly opposed by the butchers. He also inquires if it is possible to send professional menakrim from Eretz Yisrael, " because we are also entangled now with the issue of nikur as a result of the decree against slaughtering that has already taken affect…"
At the start of the letter Rabbi Chizkiyahu requests that an entry permit to Eretz Yisrael be organized for a young resident of Krinik who was learning by Rabbi Shimon Shkop in Grodno.
There is a handwritten marginal note signed by Rabbi Shimon recommending his young student and strengthening the words of Rabbi Krinik, " that his words are always measured without exaggeration."
