FRANCK CESAR: (1822-1890) Belgian-French Composer. An excellent signed and inscribed musical score `Cesar Franck«, large folio, two pages, dated 31st March 1879 in his hand. A carefully penned score entitled Leon de Solfge (`Solfege Lesson«), 88 bars, with few tempo annotations, starting with an `All[egre]tto risoluto«. Franck«s inscription states `This [score] has been specially composed for the Solfege lesson of Miss Laure Collin« before signing. Laure Collin would later publish a work `A concise history of music and musicians« in Paris, 1891. A very small tear to the central fold. VG £1500-2000
