September 1900 in Wien Februar 1975 in New York), dem christlich-konservativen Lager nahestehend, gründete 1933 die "Weltbewegung gegen Rassenhaß und Menschennot", die zwischen 1933 und 1938 mehrere tausend Mitglieder und Ortsgruppen in vielen europäischen Staaten hatte. In ausgedehnten Vortragsreisen durch Europa und die USA (1937) versuchte Irene Harand die Öffentlichkeit gegen Nationalsozialismus und Antisemitismus zu mobilisieren. Als 1938 ein Kopfgeld von 100000 Mark auf sie ausgesetzt wurde und ihre Bücher öffentlich in Salzburg verbrannt wurden, flüchtete Harand in die USA
