Machaneh Yisrael is a composition regarding the halachas and conduct for people in the army for the whole time they are in the army, and it sets out all the rules and specifics according to halachah which come out from Talmud and Poskim. The great reward for someone who keeps the Torah is explained in a number of places, and the opposite, the great punishment. It is proper for every Ben Torah to be fluent in this book.
