Antique Mariners Compass quilt 1850s-1860s, measuring 81 x 92.5 inches, consists of 42 blocks measuring about 12 x 12 inches, set straight 6 x 7, with a 4 inch pieced pyramid border. It is hand pieced, hand appliques, and hand quilted. Fabrics include a variety of chintz, turkey red, and other period fabrics. Thin cotton batting, off white cotton reverse. Edge is finished with back being brought to the front and applied by hand. There are hand embroidered initials along one side "AED." It is in fair condition with overall toning and spots, and some fabric deterioration. We do our best to describe all items in detail and provide pictures. If you have any doubt, please ask questions! We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy. Depending on how many lots we can pack, it may cost an additional $5.
