A RUSSIAN KORNILOV BROS PORCELAIN PLATE, 19 C.
This porcelain plate by Kornilov Bros is decorated with central cherry red Imperial double-headed eagle painted in cross-stitch simulated style, surrounded by geometric frieze, the borders with Russian sayings in stylized script within pale yellow strapwork, the reverse with printed blue factory mark. St Petersburg, circa 1860-1880. Reference: Private Porcelain Factory Empire Russia p. 404-405. A pair to this plate is displayed at the Hillwood Museum in Washington, DC.
