Hee-Lee Soffer, aquarelle and ink on paper, 30 by 40 cm, signed 2020
Hee-Lee Soffer is an Israeli artist born in 1978. She is a painter and illustrator who owns ur-art.net website, which is a platform for displaying her portfolio and receiving work commissions for portraits and illustrations for private and commercial clients.
Hee-Lee graduated with cum laude her master's degree in art history at the University of Haifa after writing a thesis on the subject of the artist Caravaggio and the appearance of alchemy in his work. The research in that field inspired her work by means of concept and technic.
Hee-Lee paints in classic techniques as oil on canvas, aquarelle, drawing with pencils, ink and charcoal, alongside creating digital works.
In recent years, Hee-Lee has also been experiencing in other fields of art, including clay sculpture, textile, and design using a variety of materials of art and crafting.
Hee-Lee has participated in several exhibitions. She is a lecturer in the subject of the history of art, painting and craft workshops.
Hee-Lee is an ideologist vegan and animal rights activist. She sees her work as a tool for promoting these ideas.
