Giant Standing on Rocks Cast Iron Bank
By H. L. Judd Mfg. Company. Wallingford, Ct. - Mid 1880's. An agitated and angered ogre stands on the rocky ledge of a mountain pass. In his right arm, he brandishes an old knotty club with which to scare off passers-by. Or perhaps to enforce some form of punishment. In reality, he's not such a terrible fellow. In fact, he's merely angling for you to deposit your loose change in his belly in the form of a toll. This is effectuated through his mouth, which opens once you press the lever down. Once his hunger for pennies is satisfied, he will let you pass through. A highly superior example of Judd's Giant Bank.
