Miner's Musical Wagon Novelty Toy
Pat.'d March 25, 1884. This is one of the most captivating cast iron novelty toys ever made. At this time, there is no verifiable information about the maker of " Miner's Musical Wagon". However, taking a reasonable guess, we believe it to be a single creation by Mr. Miner and that few were ever made and sold. This theory seems to be borne out by the fact that only two extant specimens of the toy have ever been found. Ironically, both of them are still housed in their original wood boxes. This might be explained by the fact that it was a costly toy to produce and that parents wanted children to store it carefully after it was played with. This presents an ideal opportunity to acquire a true rarity.
