WWII GERMAN YACHT CLUB FLAG
Extremely rare flag of the Yacht Club of Germany. The flag bears the logo of the NSRL, a white ground and a Saint Andrew's Cross of red and black diagonal bars. The flag is approx. 18 x 11.5 inches, a label from the flak maker 'Fahnen-Fleck' is sewn to the hoist reading: 'jetzt Fahnen-Fleck Rodingsmarkt Burstah Hamburg', a 15-inch long halyard is attached with a loop at the top end. The flag bears some loss of fabric in the upper right corner and some moth holes. The fabric is toned overall. A triangular pennant with the same design was published on the cover of a magazine in 1938, which is shown here for reference only (not included). The Yacht-Club von Deutschland (YCvD), 'Yacht Club of Germany', was a yacht club platform established in 1937 during Nazi rule in Germany. The umbrella organization for sports in Germany was the 'The National Socialist League of the Reich for Physical Exercise or NSRL (Nationalsozialistischer Reichsbund fur Leibesubungen) which combined all sailing clubs into one organization. Very good.
