Geulas Yisrael. Teachings of the Baal Shem Tov and his disciples first edition. Ostrow, 1821.

By Rabbi Yehoshua Avraham of Zhitomir.

1. Anthology of essays, teachings, and customs of the Baal Shem Tov and his disciples.

This Sefer encompasses lessons by the Baal Shem Tov, Maggid of Mezritch, Rabbi Pinchas of Koritz, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev, Degel Machaneh Efraim, Rabbi Baruch of Mezhibuz, Rabbi Shalom of Probisht — father of the holy Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin, Rabbi Aharon of Zhitomir and others.

This is the first Chassidic anthology documenting lessons and customs of Rabbi Pinchas of Koritz, and it is the primary source of his Torah legacy. Other teachings by Rabbi Pinchas were published in various works in later years.

Subsequent editions of this Sefer featured only parts of the original, with numerous omissions and changes, including the book title which was changed to Pisgamin Kadishin. It was printed only once more in its complete original edition ( Piotrków, 1913).

Ostrow, 1821. First Edition. [2], 31, 25 leaves.

Two volumes in one,   in the preface to this first volume, the author writes that he cannot afford to print a second volume due to a fire in his home in Zhitomir, however, sometime later, he did print the second volume of this anthology.

Extremely Rare. Has only been offered twice at public auction.

Missing the title page & preface page of the second volume.  Light worming to the inner margins.
