Detailed scene of a famous scene depicting an outraged crowd in the Shtetl over the conversion of a young Jewish girl to the Church. The girl’s mother can be seen sobbing hysterically. Angry Jews, some rushing from the Synagogue adorned in their Tallis and Tefillin are wielding sticks and pitchforks among the commotion. Oil on Canvas. Late 19th Century.
