Glazed porcelain reproduction of a Middle Kingdom Egyptian hippo figure nicknamed "William" in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Turquoise glaze with lotus flowers symbolizing where the animal lived and also life and death. Smaller reproduction with mouth open. Crazing throughout, smaller hippo missing a foot. Both marked underneath with "Metropolitan Museum" Copyright and "Italy A.2050" 8" L x 2 1/3" W x 4 1/2" H
