GENERAL CLARENCE R. HUEBNER CALLING CARDS
(1888 - 1972) Lieutenant General in the U.S. Army in WWI and WWII. Commander of the 1st Infantry Division, Huebner led the division in the assault on Omaha Beach, and pursued the German Army across France, culminating in the Battles of Aachen and the Huertgen Forest. From the estate of General CLARENCE R. HUEBNER, a personal set of 31 calling cards for him and his wife, mainly 2.25 x 3.5 inches, bearing his full name and his rank as 'Lieutenant General United States Army', he was promoted in March 1947, with two printed cards for his wife and one for his daughter. The calling cards are housed in a snakeskin patterned card carrying case. Minor toning to the cards. Also included are seven original brass printing plates in their original envelopes for different styles of cards, bearing ranks as Major General and Lt. General, with and without his wife's name. Usual tarnish and remains from inking. These items were originally sold from General Huebner's estate.
