ISRAELI STAMPS & CHECK SIGNED BY ARTHUR SZYK
(1894-1951) Polish-Jewish artist born in Lodz who worked primarily as a book illustrator and political artist, famous for his anti-Axis political illustrations and caricatures during World War II. Pair of stamps on a card, celebrating Israel 'The Israel Festival Stamps of 1950', designed by Arthur Szyk and signed by him in pencil. WITH: A check signed in blue ink for $28.00 to John G. Trothingham on June 6, 1949, check no. 1675, the First National Bank and Trust Company, New Canaan, Connecticut, 2.75 x 6.5 inches.
