WWII personal scrapbook of Pfc. William F. Brokaw from Orr, Minnesota, serving with the 991st Field Artillery Battalion. The scrapbook, bound in brown hardcovers, 12.5 x 15.5 inches, includes 31 various banknotes, a welcome letter from the 'People of Liege' welcoming the liberators, service orders, copy of a letter commending the men of the VII Corps Artillery from the Headquarters VII Corps, Lt. Gen. J. Lawton Collins, two certificates of retention dated 27. October 1945 listing a captured c .25 Walther pistol from the enemy. Further included is a copy of a hand-drawn map for a truck 'Convoy Baker 43' showing a route from Aachen, Germany to Butgenbach Belgium, an area west of the Ardennes, possibly used during wartime; a second certificate for enemy captured equipment for a saber, bayonet, and a knife; three copies of a Third Armored Division newsletter, 1 page, dated 2 October 1944; an interesting copy of 'Battlefield Trip Notes' guide to WWI battlefields, 2 pages, Verdun Red Cross, June 8, 1945; a general order listing the recipients of the Purple Heart and the Good Conduct medal, listing the Brokaw of Battery A as a recipient; a Signal Corps photograph of soldiers examining medical equipment left behind bu the Germans.
