*Highlight* 1787 New Jersey Maris 43.Y R5 Colonial 1c
***Auction Highlight*** 1787 New Jersey Maris 43.Y R5 Colonial Cent 1c Graded vf35 By SEGS. Highlight of the Night - Up for Auction is a Rarity 5 New Jersey Colonial, The Maris 43-Y The only known variety with a clashed reverse. The horse head and the plow can clearly be seen. Die State 2, rarely seen. This is well above the quality of Maris 43-Y seen in most well-formed collections. The best ones are nice VFs (Mike Demling’s, formerly from Lorenzo and Henry Garrett, tops the SHI Census), and the rest of the top 10 are populated by standard VF and VF- coins. This cavalcade of middle grade specimens of Maris 43-Y includes all of the famous name auction provenances: Norweb at fourth, Maris-Garrett-Picker at fifth, ANS at sixth, Spiro-Oechsner at seventh, Brand-Bareford-Foreman at ninth. While this coin can’t be considered unimprovable, it wouldn’t be possible to improve upon it much. Long held in a private New Hampshire collection, I think this coin would now be in the near top of the condition census. I tue find! A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
