***Auction Highlight*** 1889-s Near TOP POP Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms66+ By SEGS. HIGHLIGHT OF THE MONTH - Up for Auction is a coin that is 1 coin from the TOP POP, an ms66+ 1889-s Morgan, and very worthy of that grade. The finest known is a single ms67 that has never come to public auction. This coin is tied for 2nd finest known. It s superb. Exceptional premium Gem surfaces exhibit an intense frosty-white appearance to both sides. Fully struck from the dies and expertly preserved to rank among the finest known. The 1889-S is a scarcer Morgan silver dollar issue with a mintage of just 700,000 pieces, survivors of which are typically found in grades below MS-65. At the Gem level it becomes conditionally rare and is exceedingly so above the basal MS-66 level. At 66+ and higher it is virtually unknown and unavailable. Once again Sandi and I are very excited to bring this coin to auction, long dormant for many decades in a New Hampshire collection.
