Letter to R' Yosef Rosen - The Rogachover Gaon, Disnna 1926.
Interesting autograph letter sent by the Rosh Ha’Kohol of the town of Disnna, Rabbi Shamayahu Zalman Yaffa, to R. Yosef Rosen, the Rogatchover Gaon. The first part of the letter discusses the appointment of R. Shmuel Eliyahu Ushpul as the Rav of their town. Apparently some people in the community were unsure if they could rely on his rulings, hence the Rosh Ha’Kohol requested that the Rogatchover write a letter stating that they could indeed rely on his rulings.
In the second part of the letter, the writer reminds the Rogatchover of a meal they had together with R. Chaim Soloveitchik and R. Chaim Ozer Grodzensky in Riga, where they had discussed a robbery that had taken place in Lubavitch!
Size: 28 by 23 cm.
Condition: Fine condition. Some tears and tape repairs.
