Discovery. Rare Rulings by Sar HaTorah Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky in the Name of the Chazon Ish

Discovery: Early autograph, important and rare in its length, comprised of 24 lines (approximately 300 words!) handwritten by Sar HaTorah Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, and dozens more that are typewritten. Dozens of handwritten glosses around the lines and between the lines, written by Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky.

The autograph contains sensational rulings, apparently never published, as well as facts and conduct from his uncle, the Chazon Ish. Among the interesting and unfamiliar rulings here:

1. Funds received from national institutions for a specific purpose may be used for a different purpose, even if one clearly knows that the authorities do not allow it. These monies do not belong to the authorities; they belong to the Jewish people; the national institutions collect them and are not the owners who have the right to establish what may be done with them!!

2. A person who is confident that he will not be heeded need not rebuke (protests, etc.)

3. A young man who studied loudly and did not agree to the neighbors' request to stop because it disturbs their sleep - the Chazon Ish responded that it was good that he did not heed their request!

4. Improper books that belong to others may be burned - and one does not have to compensate the owners!

5. The Torah allows an eved kena'ani so that people who have an 'urge to rule' use it on their slaves, "and currently, when there are no slaves, he uses it on his friends, his wife, and his children." and many more halachic rulings.

6. Historic discovery: Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky attests in the name of the Chazon Ish, that in contrast to the common consensus that the Chafetz Chaim lived approximately 94 years, the Chazon Ish reliably attests that he actually lived over 100 years!!

Manuscripts by Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, occasionally put up for auction, are generally composed of only several words. Due to their brevity, it is usually impossible to understand what question the answer is addressing. These are complete halachic responsa, rare in their length and clarity, comprising hundreds of words handwritten by Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, with completely detailed responsum.

[2] pp, approximately 20x31 cm.

Fine condition: Aging stains and damp stains. Professional restoration to the margins of the pages with damage to several words.

NB: VAT added to the commission for foreign residents as well.
