“Tidal Wave of Blood and Anti-Semitism Has Overtaken the Entire World”
Desperate appeal for help and rescue signed by sages of Jerusalem. 1946
An urgent appeal for assistance, signed by the venerable Gaavad of Yerushalayim Maharit”z Dushinsky, Raavad of Yerushalayim Harav Zelig Reuven Bengis, and Hagaon Harav Shimon Aharon of Teplik.
In the appeal, they express: “The tidal wave of blood and anti-Semitism that has overtaken the entire world has wrought deep damage to the fortress of Torah founded fifty years ago by the early sages and tzaddikim of Eretz Yisrael zy”a. This fountain of spirituality relied heavily on our brothers in Czechoslovakia and Hungary for support, and with the destruction of the Diaspora and the great upheaval, income from them has nearly ceased.”
