Mishanyos with Personal Dedication of the Shevet Sofer to His Brother Rabbi Moshe Sofer

Two volumes of Mishnayos with the Tosfos authored by their great-grandfather Harav Akiva Eiger. Includes a personal autographed dedication by Harav Simcha Bunim Sofer, Av Beis Din and Rosh Yeshivah of Pressburg, to his younger brother Rabbi Moshe Sofer in honor of his wedding day. The dedication forms an acrostic of the bridegroom’s name, ‘Moshe’. 

The Shevet Sofer (1843-1907) succeeded his holy ancestors, the Chasam Sofer and Ksav Sofer, as Rav of Pressburg. He administrated the great Yeshivah in Pressburg where he cultivated thousands of talmidim and gedolei Torah who spread their brilliance and ardor for Torah throughout the borders of Hungary. The Shevet Sofer’s spiritual leadership extended across Europe, and like his venerable father and grandfather, he was a prolific author whose written legacy includes volumes of chiddushei Torah. 

The Chosson Rabbi Moshe Sofer (1841-1927) was a formidable Torah scholar and the founder and longtime director of Chevras Machzikei Hadas in Zibenbergen.

Mishnayos with Tosfos Rabbi Akiva Eiger (Berlin, 1863). 2 volumes (out of 6): Zera’im and Nashim. Page size: 28 cm. First pages of Seder Zera’im are detached and worn. Original bindings. Preserved in new box. Good condition.
