Pair of Burial Society Ledgers of the Oradea-Nagyvaradi/Grosswardein Community

Two large books printed in the official Romanian language, with space to add the names of the deceased and many details about them, including what is known about their lives, their ages, their places of residence, their marital status and more, and even about the burial arrangements, shrouds, eulogies and more.

Each deceased person was assigned several pages, including a 'declaration' by the heads of the burial society. This ledger was also the official government ledger, and the names of the deceased were written using their Jewish names and their parents' names, with the date of the Jew's death including the day of the week and the Torah portion of that week, with the name and the foreign name.
